I tend to forget who God really is. When I think of God, the first thing that comes to mind is a really big human. What I don’t always remember is how truly great He is.
The other day after a Bible study, I was reflecting on what I had learned. The topic of the Bible study had something to do with the end of time and Jesus coming back. My mind wandered and wandered, and I came up with so many questions that I couldn’t help but do some research.
Somehow, I ended up reading all about the universe, which is something that fascinates me. I love things I can’t wrap my mind around. It amazes me just how vast the universe is, and that He created everything in it for His glory; the moon, the stars, the galaxies, the planets, the black holes, and whatever else is out there. If we can’t even imagine the size of the universe, then how big is the God who created it? That leaves me in awe.
God is infinite and He exists outside of time and space. Who can imagine that? How can He be outside time and space? How has God always existed? What was He doing before He created the heavens and the Earth?
I can’t wait to be in Heaven and be filled with the knowledge I lack now. I’ll finally know where Heaven is. I’ll finally know how God created the universe. I won’t be constrained to the earthly idea of “time” and “space” anymore. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
God is amazing! I love that we can’t wrap our minds around all that He is. And the best part of it is that the Creator of the whole universe loves us so incredibly much. He is truly like nobody else. I hope I always remember all that He is to me.
Well said. I love this.
