Touchstone Christian Fellowship offers two types of personal financial assistance for people, utilizing sound Biblical principles as taught in Dave Ramsey’s literature and Financial Peace University curriculum. They are:
Financial Peace University
Financial Peace University (FPU) is offered through the church twice each year, in the spring and the fall, and is open to the public. FPU is a 13 week program, using lessons on video taught by Dave Ramsey, followed by small group discussions. In the lessons, Ramsey uses an engaging combination of humor, props, and personal stories to teach people how to get out of debt, stay out of debt, and build wealth. The small group discussions focus on encouragement and friendly accountability. By the end of the program, the average attendee has paid off $5,300 in debt and put $2,700 in savings. For more information about the FPU curriculum, please visit their web site.
Financial Counseling
Financial counseling is available for individuals and couples who are struggling with debt or are having difficulty managing their personal finances. The counseling, provided through the church by a Dave Ramsey Certified Financial Counselor, includes:
- Assistance in establishing a sound monthly budget,
- Determining a plan for paying off debt,
- Addressing specific personal financial issues, such as dealing with creditors, judgments, foreclosures, bankruptcy, etc.
Financial counseling includes an initial two hour session and three months of limited follow-up. If married, both spouses must participate in the counseling sessions. Fees for these services are based on a sliding scale depending on your specific circumstances. To schedule an initial appointment with a financial counselor, please call or email the church office. Please note that this is not a "financial planning" service. No financial products of any kind are being sold.
